Hello!

My name is Lisa and I’m a DONA International Trained Postpartum Doula serving the Los Angeles South Bay and surrounding areas. I aim to provide nurturing, informed care, assistance, and resources to you, your baby and family as you navigate the postpartum period. My goal is to support you so you feel nourished, confident, and empowered.

Doula care facilitates bonding with your baby, encourages supportive care and nurturing of parents and baby, reduces the incidence of postpartum depression and other postpartum mental health issues, and increases new parents’ confidence in their parenting abilities.

If you are pregnant or newly postpartum and looking for support, please contact me for an introductory call to see how I can best assist you!

What does a postpartum doula provide?

Education & Resources

Provide evidence-based and unbiased information and guidance about infant behavior, signs and signals, bonding, soothing, feeding, sleeping, bathing, and coping skills. It’s important to me that you feel confident making the right choices for you and your family.

Lactation support

Assisting as needed to ensure successful infant feeding. We’ll work together to establish a proper latch, troubleshoot any hurdles you might encounter, and set you up for success to meet your feeding goals, whatever they may be.

Emotional support

Provide emotional, reassuring support in the intense first weeks of parenthood. Parents with postpartum support have been shown to feel more secure and cared for, and to have better outcomes in the postpartum adjustment. Identifying postpartum mood disorders and providing timely support and profesional referrals also is also crucial.

Care

Physical and emotional care for new parents and baby, including postpartum healing. I aim to support families in adjusting, promoting parent-infant bonding, and offering evidence-based information and referrals when necessary on the emotional and physical recovery from birth.

Meals

Preparing nourishing, nutrient rich snacks and meals for the family. Your recipes or mine - a home cooked meal made for you with love and kindness makes all the difference.

Help

An extra set of hands for: grocery shopping, baby laundry, tidying you and your baby’s space, washing bottles/pumps, and generally helping new parents focus more on bonding and healing.
